THE FINALISTS OF THE GD4PHOTOART FIFTH EDITION

The four finalists for the fifth edition of the GD4PhotoArt competition, selected by the jury are: Mari Bastashevski, Sara Cwynar, Sohei Nishino and Cristobal Olivares.

The finalists will have 8 months – unti August 28, 2017 – to complete their research projects on the theme “Industry, Society and Territory”. A tutor will follow their projects and provide a reference point for the artists.

GD4PHOTOART 2015 COMPETITION FINALISTS

Projects of the finalists and winner of the competition held during Foto/Industria, the second edition of the Industrial Photography Biennial held in Bologna from last 3 October to 2 November are on view at MAST.
The exhibition features the works of Marc Roig Blesa, Raphaël Dallaporta, Madhuban Mitra & Manas Bhattacharya, and the winner of the 2015 edition, Óscar Monzón.

THE FINALISTS OF THE GD4PHOTOART FOURTH EDITION

The four finalists for the fourth edition of the GD4PhotoArt competition, selected by the jury are: Marc Roig Blesa, Manas Bhattacharya & Madhuban Mitra, Raphael Dallaporta and Oscar Monzón.

The finalists will have 11 months – from May 30, 2014 to April 30, 2015 – to complete their research projects on the theme “Industry, Society and Territory”. A tutor will follow their projects and provide a reference point for the artists.

GD4PHOTOART AT FOTOGRAFIA EUROPEA 2013

GD4PhotoArt will be present at the eighth edition of Fotografia Europea, the international photography festival that has taken place every year in Reggio Emilia since 2006. This year, the opening days will be held from May 3-5, with exhibitions until June 16.

GD4PhotoArt will present the works of Jiang Jun, Txema Salvans, Andrea Stultiens and Tomoko Sawada, the finalists in the third edition of its photographic competition, in an exhibition called “Photography Meets Industry”, at the Cloister of St Peter, Via Emilia San Pietro, 44/c.

GD4PHOTOART EXHIBITION FROM NOVEMBER 22ND TO DECEMBER 30TH 2012

The opening of the third GD4PhotoArt exhibition, promoted by G.D and Fondazione Isabella Seràgnoli, will take place on November 21st at 6.30 pm at the Pinacoteca Nazionale, Bologna. The exhibition will run until December 30.

The exhibition, entitled Photography meets Industry, presents the images of the four finalists of the 2011/12 competition: Jiang Jun (China), Txema Salvans (Spain), Tomoko Sawada (Japan), and Andrea Stultiens (The Netherlands).
The jury, after having carefully evaluated the completed projects, decided to award the prize jointly to Andrea Stultiens and Txema Salvans.

THE FINALISTS OF THE GD4PHOTOART THIRD EDITION

The four finalists of the Third Edition of GD4PhotoArt competition selected by the jury are:
Jiang Jun (China), Txema Salvans (Spain), Tomoko Sawada (Japan), Andrea Stultiëns (Netherlands).

The finalists will have 6 months – from January 1st, 2012 to June 30th, 2012 – to carry out their research project on the theme “Industry, Society and Territory”. A tutor will follow the project and provide a reference point for the artists.

GD4PHOTOART AT FOTOGRAFIA EUROPEA

GD4PhotoArt will be present at Fotografia Europea 2011, the international photography festival that has taken place every year in Reggio Emilia since 2006. This year the events are to be held on May 7th – 8th, with exhibitions until June 13th.
GD4PhotoArt shows the images of the winners of the first edition: Olivia Gay, Justin Jin, Alessandro Sambini and Niels Stomps in the exhibition, “Photography Meets Industry”, Chiostri di San Domenico – via Dante Alighieri, 11.

GD4PHOTOART EXHIBITION FROM SEPTEMBER 30TH TO NOVEMBER 2ND 2010

The opening of the photographic exhibition of GD4PhotoArt Second Edition, promoted by G.D and Fondazione Isabella Seràgnoli, will take place on Thursday 30th of September at 6.30 pm at the Pinacoteca Nazionale, Bologna.
Photography meets Industry presents the images of the four winners of the 2009/10 edition: the French artist Olivia Gay shows the project “The Lacemakers of Calais” which focuses on women at work in the Noyon mechanical lace factory in Calais; the British photographer Justin Jin with “Zone of Absolute Discomfort” describes life in the far north of Russia, where conditions are very hard but habitable enough to keep alive mines that extract millions of tons of oil, gas and minerals; the Italian artist Alessandro Sambini proposes the project “‘Na mota e ‘na busa” on heaps intended as a product of human creativity; “Eldorado” of the Dutch artist Niels Stomps shows three series of photographs on the scientific research activity carried out in the Svalbard islands.

THE FINALISTS OF THE GD4PHOTOART SECOND EDITION

The winner and the three finalists of the Second Edition of GD4PhotoArt competition selected by the jury are: Olivia Gay (France), Justin Jin (United Kingdom), Alessandro Sambini (Italy), Niels Stomps (The Netherlands).
They will have to complete their project on the theme “Industry, Society and Territory” by the 30th of June 2010. Before the end of 2010 an exhibition of the work of the winner and of the three finalists will be held, which will be inaugurated to coincide with the announcement of the 2011 third edition of GD4PhotoArt.

GD4PHOTOART AT ARTELIBRO – ART BOOK FESTIVAL 2009 FROM 24TH TO 27TH SEPTEMBER IN BOLOGNA

GD4PhotoArt will be present at Artelibro 2009, the 6th edition of the Art Book Festival that will be held in Bologna, on September 24th – 27th 2009. At booth 50 of the Sala degli Atti e Salone del Podestà – 1st Floor – Palazzo Re Enzo e Podestà the catalogue containing the work of the winners and of the participants in the first edition of the GD4PhotoArt international photographic competition will be available.

The Second Edition 2009/10 of the competition will be presented during the conference “GD4PhotoArt: Photography meets Industry”, which will take place on Friday, September 25th from 19:00 to 20:00 at Palazzo Re Enzo e del Podestà – Sala del Quadrante. The participants in the competition are 36 young European photographers selected by 18 experts.

The following jury members will attend the conference: Gabriele Basilico, photographer; Giovanna Calvenzi journalist, Gruppo Rizzoli Corriere della Sera; Giuseppe Ciorra, university professor; Daniela Facchinato, gallery owner; Mariella Criscuolo Corporate Communication Manager, Coesia Group; Laura Gasparini, Director of the Reggio Emilia Municipal Photographic Library; Piero Orlandi, Director of the Emilia Romagna Region’s Architectural Heritage Department.
